Romania, two gold and one bronze medals  won in the World University Games
Athlete Roxana Bîrcă and wrestler  Stefan Gheorghiţă won Thursday  the gold medals in the 5,000 meters  run  and in the  84 kilograms wrestling category, respectively, while Carmen Toma won the  bronze medal in the triple jump at the World University Games, from Kazan (Russia ). So far,  Romania has gathered six medals, Mediafax reports.

Roxana Bîrcă  climbed  on the highest step of the podium in the 5.000 meters  run which she finished with the time 15:39.76 minutes, with this being the best performance in this competition  season for the Romanian sportswoman. 
The next two steps of the podium were climbed by  Olga Kolovkina (Russia, 15:43.77 minutes) and  Ayuko Suzuki (Japan, 15:51.47 minutes).
    
The second gold medal of the Romanian  delegation was conquered  Thursday by wrestler  Stefan Gheorghita in the  84-kg category. The Romanian athlete surpassed  in the first round Amarhadsi Magomedov (Belarus), in the quarterfinals he defeated Piotr Ianulov, while  in the semi-finals he managed to overcome Umidjon Usmanov (Uzbekistan). In the  finals Stefan Gheorghita fought and defeated  Shamil Kudiamagomedov (Russia)  by  3-1.    


In athletics, Carmen Cristina Toma  got the bronze medal in the triple jump test with a performance of  14.14 metres, the best personal result of the season. Russian Ekaterina Koneva (14.82 metres) won the competition and the silver medal went to Polish Anna Jagaciak (14.21).
 The second representative of Romania in the of 5,000 meters run , Cristina Furmuz,  got the 8th place (16.39.07).  


At 3,000 meters obstacles, Alexander Ghinea was ranked 7th (8:53.14 minutes).

After six days of competition at the World University Games, the Romanian delegation has six medals won, two gold (athlete Roxana Bîrcă and wrestler  Stefan George) and four bronze medals (athlete Andreea Ogăzeanu, 100 and 200 meters athlete Carmen Cristina Toma, the triple jump and swordswoman  Simona Pop).
