Romania’s Attorney General is on Gabriel Oprea’s list of colonels. Laura Codruta Kovesi has been appointed colonel though she hasn’t fulfilled a day of military service.

National Defense Minister Corneliu Dobritoiu says for Gandul journal that the General Attorney was given this rank by a 2010 decree signed by the former minister Gabriel Oprea.

Being contacted by Gandul journalists, Laura Codruta Kovesi said she was not aware of receiving any military rank and of any military advancement.

The General Attorney asked the National Minister of Defense to investigate her colonelcy without her being informed and to rectify this condition.
