The Government gave up the mini-census. PM Victor Ponta considers there may appear false results. The Government fears another boycott may be initiated by mayors.

PM Ponta asked the ministers involved to rapidly check, using „administrative means“, if there were deceased persons or without citizenship on the permanent electoral lists at the date of the referendum. The Prime Minister indicated that a mini-census could no longer be set up because the boycott continues.

According to Victor Ponta, the Constitutional Court judges did not request the Government for the permanent electoral lists because they are at the Central Electoral Office headquarters, instead they requested „the permanent electoral lists updated according to article 17 paragraph 2 of the 3/2000 bill.“

PM Ponta also stated that he lamented the fact exactly Traian Basescu puts pressure on the Constitutional Court and made an appeal for these pressures to stop.
