Specifically, the bill provides that the Romanians make donations for the purchase of tanks and drones. And donors are rewarded based on the amounts they give, with fiscal facilities or military ranks.
On the other hand, Liberal MP Ioan Cupşa, explained in a telephone intervention on the show "On today’s agenda" by Sabina Iosub that he knew nothing about the Annex being debated which provides rewards with military ranks.
"It is a new annex which was not made available to us, the other supporters. I have just found out what it is about. We have a law in Romania regulating military status that does not require major changes. According to that law military ranks are being granted. There is no question to intervene in this structure. The text of the legislative initiative bears a lot of criticism. The text will be debated in committees, will be amended and the better option adopted. I knew nothing of this Annex. I will not vote for a bill that requires the purchase of military ranks. "
