The Premier reviewed a series of measures to reduce the factors that attract immigrants to the UK, including increasing the time period between arrival in the country and the time they may require social assistance, according to Financial Times online edition.
Cameron's advisers have denied suggestions affirming that this period could be extended from three months to a year, but confirmed that they considering tightening the rules.
Some of the proposed reforms could be included in the government bill on immigration, while others may be integrated in the renegotiations of EU laws proposed by Cameron before the referendum planned for 2017.
