
In his commentary Safonov talks about the meeting between the foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine which will take place in Chernivtsi, the place has not been chosen randomly, Northern Bukovina being a territory claimed by Romania too.
This meeting would be an opportunity for Russia and Ukraine to develop a plan to combat Romanian expansionism.
Safonov's radical statements continued: "It's hard to stop the expansionist trends of Antonescu’s descendants, even if Russia and Ukraine will embark on a common road. The political regimes leading Romania supported by an aggressive diplomacy whose aim has been expansion and chauvinism. It should be noted that Romania's strongest allies such as the U.S. and NATO make this country a strong issue in our way, " the former Moldovan deputy continued.
