What is Prime minister Ponta's opinion about a new referendum

Prime minister and SDP president, Victor Ponta, stated that the referendum result was „excellent“ and that SLU (Social Liberal Union) would continue representing those who were voted for dismissing Traian Băsescu. In addition, Ponta said that Băsescu is politically dismissed.

The Romanian Prime minister stated, at the SLU headquarters, before a management meetign, that the referndum outcome is a good one for SLU.

Answering a question, Ponta also said that there is no coexisting with Traian Băsescu.

„No, we will not hold another referendum, there has already been one, eight million Romanian voted against Băsescu, how many referendums must we have? Things are very clear, Băsescu no longer represents anyone. After yesterday's poll, mister Traian Băsescu has no legitimacy whatsoever and no longer represents anyone. He will probably stay at Cotroceni, have cars, villas and some profit driven individuals around him that will keep on inciting him and praising him“, commented the Prime minister.
