„Of course we take under consideration this option, because we are facing a never before seen situation in Romania and Europe since 1945 and from the first vote freely expressed for the European Parliament in 1968. A president of an European state who sits down at the richmen's table and defends the interests of Romania is no longer the representative for Romanian citizens. Right now, president Traian Băsescu no longer has the moral legitimacy always claimed by the EU“, said Zgonea, quoted by Mediafax press agency.
„It is a matter of morals and honour and maybe you have noticed that, in Europe, deputies, ministers, state chiefs, and prime minister resigned for much minor things“, added Zgonea.
